Presentation of MEP 2015 at Spanish Club of Energy in Madrid
Club Español de la Energia (EnerClub) with support of Gas Natural Fenosa hosted the presentation of OME’s flagship publication Mediterranean Energy Perspectives (MEP 2015). The event gathered around 100 participants from the Spanish energy industry, experts and academia.
The event was opened by Arcadio GUTIÉRREZ ZAPICO, General Director of the EnerClub who welcome all participants. He underlined that the Club Español de la Energia and OME have started cooperation since 2006 and have signed a MoU to strengthen their relationship. The presentation of MEP 2016 is a step forward in this context.
Houda BEN JANNET ALLAL, OME General Director thanked Mr. Arcadio GUTIÉRREZ ZAPICO and his team for their welcome and for organizing the event and also Mr. José Maria EGEA KRAUEL, Managing Director of Energy Planning, GAS NATURAL FENOSA and his team for hosting the event, for the support and excellent cooperation. She then introduced OME and its main missions and activities.
Sohbet KARBUZ, OME Director of Hydrocarbons then made a presentation on the Mediterranean energy future to the horizon 2040, based on the main results of MEP2015. The presentation was followed by a Q&A session and bilateral exchanges with participants.
The event was closed by José Maria EGEA KRAUEL, Managing Director of Energy Planning, GAS NATURAL FENOSA.
ENERCLUB
Enerclub is an nonprofit organisation created in 1985, which gathers more than 150 companies and institutions from or related to the energy sector and the economy in general. Its main goal is to contribute to the general understandting of all energy-related topics: it´s a meeting point to generate relevant discussions, highlighting the importance of energy to society, the economy and the sustainable development. Enerclub is the main office of the World Energy Council and the World Petroleum Council, projecting in Spain the activity of both entities. Among its main activities are potgraduate and continuity within the academic sector, institutional events, conferences, seminars, analysis and reflection projects.

OME
Observatoire Méditerranéen de l’Energie, is the association of the Mediterranean Energy Industry. For over 25 years, OME has been committed to promote energy dialogue in the Mediterranean Region, to strengthen regional cooperation. OME analyses energy with an integrated and cross-cutting approach. OME participates in several European Commission and other international projects, promotes knowledge exchange and capacity building. OME has signed MoUs to promote cooperation with other regional organizations. OME is involved as stakeholder in the UfM REM and REEE platforms and acts as Secretariat of the UfM Gas Platform. OME notably publishes a Mediterranean energy outlook, the “Mediterranean Energy Perspectives”.
