For integrated and reliable electricity markets in the Mediterranean region
This brainstorming paper investigates issues related to the electricity market design options considering both higher penetration of RES and conventional generation into the power systems of South and East Mediterranean countries. The purpose is to bring ideas on how the whole energy system could run, both at national and regional level, while minimizing overall costs, within a more sustainable and reliable configuration of operational and technological options when it comes to plan energy strategies and market reforms.
