OME’s training workshop focused on energy statistics and balances
On 1 and 2 July 2013, a training workshop on Energy Statistics and Balances was organized by the OME at its premises in Paris. The objective was to get junior staff of OME Member companies and partners familiarized with the definitions and procedures most commonly used to collect and process energy data.
OME staff led this 5th session of the OME Enermed training programme. Through the 2-day workshop, they highlighted the importance for energy analysts/statisticians to be in a position to assess the quality of energy data, to understand the definitions used as well as to distinguish among all sources of information, in order to determine energy challenges, assets and problems, and when necessary to conform with national and international conventions. A presention of OME’s in-house energy model on the Mediterranean was also given to participants.
In view of the interest generated, OME is maintaining its efforts and is preparing additional sessions for 2013 (programme to be circulated soon). To facilitate the participation of delegates, Workshops out of France are considered.
