OMEC Webinar Series – Critical infrastructure & cybersecurity in the energy sector.
With the growing electrification of the economy and the ongoing energy transition, both conventional and alternative energy technologies are becoming increasingly integrated into digital systems and networks. While this digitalization enhances energy efficiency, facilitates the expansion of renewable sources, and enables smarter energy services for consumers, it also heightens the energy sector’s exposure to cyber threats. Greater connectivity amplifies vulnerabilities, increasing the risk of cyberattacks that could jeopardize energy supply security and consumer data privacy.
Aware of this, on March 27, 2025, OMEC convened a high-level webinar titled “Critical Infrastructure & Cybersecurity in the Energy Sector” bringing together leading cybersecurity experts, researchers, and energy sector professionals to explore the evolving digital threats facing critical infrastructure and to discuss strategies for resilience and risk mitigation.
