Status and Deployment Perspectives
A new OME report has just been released. It has been developed within the framework of the OME Energy Transition, Sustainability and Climate Change Committee following the webinar on “The role of energy storage in renewables integration and energy transition in the Mediterranean” organized on March 17th, 2023.
The paper gives an overview of energy storage technologies at the global level and analyses energy storage status and deployment perspectives in the Mediterranean region, in terms of installed capacity of the different technologies, recent developments, and national programmes and objectives.
The paper has been conducted by the Renewable Energy and Electricity Division of OME, acting as the Secretariat of the Energy Transition Committee, and has benefited from the support of the Committee members.
