Energy in the Mediterranean; Situation and Perspectives
The OME successfully held the 10th edition of its ENERMED training programme. The workshop was held at OME headquarters, in Paris, on 17 and 18 December 2015. It was centered on the energy perspectives in the Mediterranean, following the launch, on 9 December, of OME’s flagship publication, Mediterranean Energy Perspectives 2015.
The training opened on the presentation of the main energy trends in the region, followed by a presentation of the global context and the World Energy Outlook 2015 by distinguished guest speaker, Kamel Bennaceur, Director of Sustainable Energy Policy and Technology at the IEA.
Topics addressed over the two-day course also included oil and gas exploration, production and development, evolution of electricity generation, installed capacity, and network infrastructure and regulation, developments of innovative and renewable energy sources, energy efficiency, impacts on energy import dependence and CO2 emissions. The training closed on an insight on the new energy and climate stakes: from COP 21 to COP 22, from Paris to Marrakech.
