OMEC at EGYPES 2025

The Egypt Energy Show (EGYPES) 2025, held from 17-19 february, under the patronage of His Excellency Abdel Fattah El Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, serves as the region’s premier platform for energy dialogue, emphasizing pragmatic, secure, and sustainable energy development. Over the course of three days of conferences, OMEC participated in three engaging sessions that tackled critical issues within the energy sector.

The first session, titled “Powering Electricity with Low-Carbon Fuels and Renewables,” featured insights from OMEC’s General Director. The discussion focused on the evolving energy landscape, underscoring the urgency of achieving net-zero emissions and the necessity of collaboration between governments and industry to cultivate a sustainable energy future.

In the second session, “Leveraging Natural Gas as a Destination Fuel,” Sohbet Karabuz, OMEC’s Director of Natural Resources and Energy Security, shared valuable insights on enhancing energy cooperation and the pivotal role of natural gas in the Mediterranean region’s energy transition.

The third session, “Leveraging the Power of Communication to Strengthen the New Energy Narrative,”. During the session, Nour ElAbbady from OMEC provided perspectives on the evolution of energy communication in the Mediterranean and strategies for effectively engaging stakeholders in discussions about sustainability and the ongoing role of hydrocarbons.

Through these sessions, OMEC reinforced its commitment to fostering dialogue and collaboration in the pursuit of a cleaner and more sustainable energy future.
