Training session dedicated to smart grids, information systems, RES integration and demand side management
On 26 and 27 May 2014, the second session of the year 2014 of the ENERMED Training Programme took place in Paris, at OME offices. This two-day training session was organized by OME’s Electricity Division and benefit from the contribution of internationally renowned experts and academics from OME members and partners.
The two-days were articulated in an opening session and three technical sessions dealing with (i) regulation, market design and renewables integration, (ii) information system and demand side management (DSM), (iii) smart grids and technological challenges. The high level profile of the speakers, both academics (University of Montpellier) and industry experts from companies as EDF, ENEL, ERDF, RTE and TRACTEBEL, and from our partner Res4Med provided a complete picture of such a complex and articulate domain, stimulating the discussion among participants, who also presented their own national experiences and ongoing projects on smart grids, DSM and RES integration.
Feedback from attendants has been very positive, and a real interest to examine more in depth such a revolutionary issues, focusing on South Mediterranean countries potentialities and opportunities, has been manifested. In view of the interest generated, OME is maintaining its efforts and is preparing additional sessions.
