Venice Forum on hydrogen 2024: infrastructure, offtake, finance, and energy security

On 18 October 2024, OMEC General Director participated in the Venice Hydrogen Forum 2024 in Italy (18-19 October), to address the role of hydrogen and ammonia import to Europe. Hosted by the Green Hydrogen Organisation, GH2, and Venice Sustainability Foundation, the Venice Hydrogen Forum is a ministerial and CEO level international meeting about the transport and trade of hydrogen and its derivatives by pipeline and other means across the Mediterranean. It looked at the connection between European hydrogen infrastructure and major green hydrogen production centres in North Africa and the Middle East. Key issues delved into at the forum included hydrogen transport, offtake, finance, energy security, local value creation and addressing climate change.
