This discussion paper is an update of OME 2011 study ‘Unconventional Gas: hype or reality for the Euro-Mediterranean Region?. It reviews the recent developments in shale gas activities in the Euro-Mediterranean region by country with a focus on issues related to public opposition and social acceptance.
