The overall objective of the project is to establish strong links and a high level cooperation between civil society in Turkey and EU Member States through civil society dialogue in the area of energy security as concerns electricity and gas in particular around the Black Sea and South-Eastern Europe.
The specific objectives of the project are:
- Enhance the capacity of Turkish decision and policymaking ecosystem to include CSOs from Turkey and EU member states as stakeholders in the dialogue driving and shaping common energy security policy issues;
- Foster common energy security dialogue, understanding and attention to governance factors by policy-makers in Turkey and the EU, focusing in particular on the region of the Black Sea and Southeast Europe;
- Enhance regional cooperation, network building and empower CSOs outside of the immediate project scope, to collaborate with public officials in the natural gas and electricity sectors;
- Facilitate the exchange of best practices and help CSOs improve their legitimacy, transparency and accountability, through a focus on good governance practices in the natural gas and electricity sector.
Duration: 15 months (15 February 2016 – 14 May 2017)
